Fecal Occult Blood Test
NOVAtest® Fecal Occult Blood Test is a professional immunochromatographic assay for qualitative detection of human hemoglobin in fecal specimens.
Gastrointestinal disorders such as colorectal cancer, colon polyps, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease often present with fecal occult blood (FOB)—invisible blood in stool that is an early, often sole sign of these conditions, with colorectal cancer being a leading global cancer and cause of cancer-related death.
NOVAtest® Fecal Occult Blood Test is a fast, visually-read self-test designed to detect human hemoglobin in feces via lateral flow immunoassay, delivering results in 15 minutes with 98.13% diagnostic sensitivity and 99.29% specificity. Unlike traditional guaiac FOB tests, it has no dietary restrictions and uses a double-antibody sandwich method. It is easy to operate, single-use, and stored at 2~30°C with a 24-month shelf life, serving as a reliable preliminary screening tool for lower GI tract bleeding, with positive results requiring professional medical evaluation.
This device is performed manually. Performance of the test is limited to laboratory professional use.
